Question: If I fall behind in course (say intro accounting) and get a "D," will taking the same course again in the summer (assuming I get an "A" second time around) replace the "D" or does it appear as an A+ and a W on the transcript?

Answer: Hi there, If you drop the course before nov 8th it will show up on your transcript as a w. You will always have that w. If you drop after november 8th, you will have a F. You will always have the F on your transcript. If you retake the course and get a A you will have the F or W depending on when you dropped the course and they wont affect your gpa. You will also have your most most recent grade and it will affect your gpa. Both will show up on your transcript but only the newest grade will affect your gpa. If you stay in the course and get a D your transcript should always show you took the course and got a D. If you retake the course the D will be there along with your new grade. Your newest grade goes towards your pga. If the newest grade is worse than the previous grade then it doesnt matter. Your stuck with the newest mark no matter what. I hope that helps. I went to the science academic counceling yesterday to ask these questions for myself. academic counceling for your department should tell you the same information. Good luck.
