Answer: Hi there! Congratulations on your acceptance! I know that registering for courses for the first time can be a little bit overwhelming, however I have some useful tips that helped me during my first year. First, you should make sure you talk with you Academic Advisor regarding the mandatory courses that you have to take based on major. Second, you can try to follow all the steps on how to register found in this link: http://www.smu.ca/academics/ar-register-for-courses.html or contact the Centre for New Students at: (902) 491-8691 for further assistance. You can also look at the Academic Calendar for the 2017-2018 year http://www.smu.ca/webfiles/UG%20calendar%202017-18%2024%20March%202017.pdf for a better description and a list of all the courses offered at the university, this is very helpful when you are trying to choose you electives! Finally, If you have any registration problems you can contact the Service Centre at: service.centre@smu.ca and they will be available to help you. I hope this was helpful and welcome to SMU!
