Question: I have been having mental health issues recently but I do not want to talk to a professional. Does SMU have any resources that I could use?

Answered by: Nishka
Answer: SMU offers Peer Supporters that have experience with mental health issues. They are there to help with a lot of mental health concerns including managing stress, coping strategies, relationship problems, and referrals to other important resources. If you live in residence then there are RAs you could talk to. But nothing is as good as talking to a professional. SMU has a counselling centre that offers free and confidential services to all students. Hope that helped!
