Question: I wanted to know what will be the total fee structure for an international student per year in the sociology department. I saw the cost calculator but could not understanding properly, so would be great if you could help me out. Hope to hear soon.

Answer: Hey there! Using the tuition calculator can be a bit intimidating at first, but it is one of the most helpful ways to get an approximate idea of what you’ll be paying while you attend SMU! Go to this link http://www.smu.ca/academics/undergraduate-tuition-calculator.html and fill in all the slots. In residency, choose “International”; study period- September to April; health Waiver- “….supplemental coverage”. Sociology falls within the “Arts” department and a first year typically does 5 courses in each term. So, under course selection, enter 5 in both “fall" and “winter” beside “Arts”. On your right, there should be a section labelled “Accommodations and Meal Plans”. Choose the residence and meal plan that you prefer. When you’re done, check out the “Cost breakdown” box on your left to see an approximate total of the fees that you would pay for a full academic year. Hope this helps!
