Question: I am an international student coming from Japan. I would like to know the best way to get around the city. How easy is it to get around Halifax?

Answer: Luckily the city is quite a small easy place to get around. All the major places are located in a similar area which again makes it easier. The first method would be to use the student bus pass that all full-time students receive. This will mean you can use any of the bus routes and get almost anywhere within a reasonable amount of time. A guide to metro transit is as follows http://www.halifax.ca/metrotransit/schedules/. However, walking is also a very good idea. From Saint Mary’s the main high street (Spring Garden Road) is only 15 minute walk and many other places can be walked to within 45 minutes
