Question: I am a first-year student who have done 5 courses last semester with a average GPA 3.60. And i am doing on 5 courses this semester .SO, I am wondering whether I am apply a scholarship if I get a great GPA. And , by the way , what is the day that I should apply that and where? Thanks a lot

Answer: Hi Jamies, As a first year student you must complete a full year of study at Saint Mary's before you are eligible to receive scholarships. The Named Undergraduate Awards will be available to you shortly, you will be able to find the application at this link: http://www.smu.ca/academics/new-named-undergrad-awards.html. This provides you with criteria for the award and application requirements. You can also apply for the Financial Needs Based Bursary now, which is due February 12, 2016. Here is the link to that application: http://www.smu.ca/academics/undergraduate-aid-and-awards.html#FNBB. The great thing about these scholarships is that they do not always reflect the highest GPA, some include extra curricular activities. Best of luck!
