Question: Hey!! I'm actually registering for courses and I need help. I don't understand credit hours and in how many months I shall complete them (semesters and term) . I will attend B.sc dip in ENGINEERING.

Answered by: Gaius
Answer: Good day, Each course that is taken at Saint Mary's University is worth 3 credit hours. Usually, it takes 3 months to complete one course which is called a semester. There are two semesters during the academic year Fall; September to December and Winter; January to April. During the spring and summer there are shorter, condensed semesters each being 2 months. The spring semester is from May- June and Summer semester from July- August. In order to complete a diploma in Engineering, approximately 72 credit hours are required which is actually 24 courses. Students choose to take 6 courses each during the Fall and Winter semester to finish within the 2 year period. However, other students opt to take less courses and complete the other during the spring and summer semester. I hope this explanation helps and best of luck with your decision! Regards, Gaius
