Question: How many credits do I need for first year BA? Do I need to take all the required courses in one semester or two?

Answered by: Lawson
Answer: Hey Nicole, thanks for your question!! If I am understanding the question correctly (which I hope that I am) you need to be enrolled in 10 courses over the span of the year to acquire the required number of credits. 10 courses translates into 30 credit hours which is what the university recommends if you are planning to finish your BA in 4 years. Taking all 10 in one semester is probably impossible and I WOULD NOT advise that you do that. Typically students will take 5 in the Fall semester and then 5 in the Winter semester. You could also reduce those to 4 in each semester and take the other 2 credits in the Spring and Summer semesters either online, or in class if you are around campus during those months. If it means anything, I take 4 in the Fall, 4 in Winter, and then make up the other 2 credits in the Spring and Summer. I hope that this helps! Good luck!!
