Residence

Application for Single Student Housing

A Single Student is anyone who is not married, will not have family members living with them and is entering any year of an Undergraduate Program.  You should be aware that the average age of students living in Single Student Housing is age 18.

Eligibility:

Students must be in full-time attendance (registered for a minimum of 3 courses) at Saint Mary’s or any recognized post-secondary institution.

Students who are registered as a part-time student may be considered for residence at the discretion of the Director, Housing & Conference Services.

Students whose status changes from full-time to part-time during the academic year must notify the Residence Life Office.

 The University reserves the right to refuse an application for residence accommodation, to cancel residence privileges at any time and to re-assign students to other rooms for reasons it deems appropriate.

Please apply according to the following categories:

NEW SMU STUDENT:

Once you have been officially accepted by the University, you will receive an email inviting you to enter our online housing portal to apply for residence.

 

NEW NON-SMU STUDENT:

Please contact the Centre for Housing & Residence Life either by email at residence.life@smu.ca or by phone at 902.420.5598.

In addition to the above noted requirements, you are required to submit a copy of your acceptance letter received from the institution you will be attending, i.e., NSCAD, NSCC, CAT.

 

RESIDENCE STUDENT (Returning):

In February, an email will be sent to all students living in residence inviting them to enter the housing portal and apply for residence for the next academic year.
