Employee Long Distance Policy

Personal long distance calls are not to be charged to the University's accounts. Such calls are permitted only if charges are reversed (collect call) or to a third-party number (your home number or calling card).

Should long distance business calls be necessary while travelling or at home, these calls should be charged either to your hotel room, your home phone number or a University-issued Aliant calling card. The employee will subsequently be reimbursed through an expense report (substantiated by a copy of the telephone bill or hotel bill). Charging these calls as a third party to the University is NOT acceptable.
