If you are planning to travel outside of Canada – wherever you plan to go -- you should make contingency plans prior to departure. This web site offers some practical advice and provides links to related sites. In particular, if you have any concerns about health, safety, or security, we recommend that you make decisions to travel after having read the Country Report for your destination on the web site for Foreign Affairs Canada. Please note that University funds cannot be used for travel to locations for which the Canadian government has issued a Travel Warning.

Travel Registration
The International Activities Office of Saint Mary's University provides a service of maintaining on file basic details about your upcoming travels and contact information. Armed with this information, and your permission to do so, the staff can communicate with you or with appropriate government officials, medical personnel, family members and others to facilitate problem-solving while you are away.
Most of the difficulties which you encounter can best be handled in-country, so the advice on this site suggests ways of ensuring that you are prepared to do so. However, some emergency situations may require backup support, or may require that we contact you.
How to Register:
1) Download a copy of the Registration Form.
2) Complete, sign, and send, together with a photocopy of the picture page of your passport to: Travel Registration, International Activities Office, Saint Mary's University.
3) Make note of how to contact us – just in case.
