Orientation for International Students

You are invited to attend our FREE Orientation for international students which will take place on MONDAY, MAY 7th. Students who attend the orientations are able to settle in more quickly and have fewer problems with adjustment.   Even if you can attend only a portion of the orientation you will benefit. To register, please complete and submit the Orientation Sign-Up Form.

HAVE YOU REGISTERED FOR COURSES YET? If not, click here. It is very important to register early to make sure courses are available.

Residence Accommodation:

If you are staying in our residences you wil be able to move into your room on SUNDAY, MAY 6th ANYTIME AFTER 9AM.

If you are staying in Residence, but are arriving later than SUNDAY, MAY 6th, you must notify the Residence Life Office no later than SUNDAY, MAY 6th or you will forfeit your $500 deposit and lose your room assignment.

If you are staying in residence, but arrive in Halifax before SUNDAY, MAY 6th, you will need to find temporary accommodation. An online list of hotels, inns and beds & breakfasts is available on our website at http://internationalcentre.smu.ca/orientation-09.html We strongly suggest that you make reservations before your arrival.

If you are planning to stay in residence make sure that you have paid all the necessary deposits and that your space has been confirmed.  If you are unsure, please contact the Residence office as soon as possible to find out about the status of your application.
