Commerce
The ten commerce programs have been summarized in their own 101 file, a tool designed to help students link their program with a career goal.
Each 101 file contains:
- Introduction to the program: What it studies and how that knowledge is used in career development
- Job skills that can be gained through the successful completion of that major
- Job titles that are in your immediate future and ones for which you may be preparing for the next few years
- Associations and agencies related to that discipline
- Some graduate school background
While some commerce programs may be perceived as very focused, the reality is that all organizations, companies and agencies have a use for the business management, marketing, financial planning, accounting, IT and human resource functions.
Matching your industry of choice with a commerce degree can help ensure a satisfying career in which you feel you can make the kind of impact you anticipated making in your community, whether you will be working in Canada or internationally.
There are many stages that you will go through as you develop a career path. Your path may change dramatically or alter slightly as you explore new ideas and gain exposure to job and industry information. We can help you use that information and your knowledge about your skills and competencies to make decisions about choosing a program, gaining meaningful skills and experience and finally gaining meaningful employment.
