Centre for Academic and Instructional Development
Saint Mary's University's Office of Instructional Development (OID)
was established in 1998 to build on the work of the Quality of Teaching
Committee (1988 - present) in support of teaching and learning, both
off and on campus. The Office provides services and programs that
offer opportunities for professional development in teaching to full
and part time faculty.
Since its establishment, the office has expanded its services in support of the use of educational technology and Margaret-Anne Bennett, Director, has played a growing role in strategic projects within the Academic Plan adopted by the University in 2002. In recognition of these changes and new responsibilities, the OID has been renamed the Centre for Academic and Instructional Development (CAID).
The Centre for Academic and Instructional Development is
an independent unit reporting to the Vice President, Academic and
Research.
