Sobey IMPACT team takes third in McGill International Portfolio Challenge.

Jordan Logan, Stephanie Fitzner, Jarrett Leach and Amana Popatiya.

Please join me in congratulating Stephanie Fitzner, Amaan Popatiya, Jarrett Leach, and Jordan Logan who made the podium in the prestigious 2017 McGill International Portfolio Challenge. This IMPACT Team of UNDERGRAD students ranked 3rd among more than 60 competing teams from different universities (e.g. Harvard, MIT, Baruch, Queens, UC Berkeley, UoT, and Waterloo, among many others). Teams of HEC MsC Financial Engineering and Illinois Institute of Tech MFin ranked respectively 1st ($25,000 cash prize) and 2nd.

The IMPACT students competed in finding innovative ways to invest the DB Pension Fund’s assets while satisfying all the parties involved, and keeping the risk level in check (this is real!). Not only have Stephanie, Amaan, Jarrett, and Jordan cashed in $7500, but they also impressed senior members from CPPIB (Senior Managing Director & Chief Investment Strategist), PSP, OTPP (MD Credit & Equity Products) and CIBC by their talents (as undergrad) and their outstanding performance.

Again, congratulations to the IMPACT TEAM and the IMPACT group. Thanks to Ross (IMPACT co-academic director, for his guidance) and Margaret Murphy (for her help). Special thanks to Dean Bradshaw for her continuous unconditional support to the IMPACT program.
