The Frank H. Sobey Fund for Excellence in Business Studies anticipates making six awards of $10,000 each, in the 2010-2011 academic year, to full-time students of business studies at universities in the Atlantic Provinces.  The fund will also award up to three Honourable Mention awards of $1000 each.  In addition, all nominees as selected by their respective universities who do not receive a major Award or Honourable Mention will receive a minimum $500 award.

 

Criteria:

 

• must have completed at least one year of undergraduate or graduate business studies at an Atlantic Provinces university
• be enrolled in full-time business studies at an Atlantic Provinces university for the 2010-2011 year
• minimum overall average of 3.67 grade points with no individual course mark below an A- in the applicants’ most recent year of full-time business studies at an Atlantic Provinces university
• the Fund will also take into appropriate account information provided by or in support of applicants concerning their career aspirations, entrepreneurial ambitions, extra-curricular activities and community activities
