Astronomy & Physics - Institute for Computational Astrophysics
The ICA was founded to promote computational astrophysics at Saint Mary's University. Specific goals include:
- To provide the facilities and intellectual environment for research of an international caliber in computational astrophysics;
- To train highly qualified personnel at both the post-graduate and post-doctoral levels in computational astrophysics;
- To promote interest in computational astrophysics in Atlantic Canada;
- To bring visitors in relevant fields to the ICA in order to perform their own research and to interact with ICA members;
- To provide access to hardware and software for collaborators;
- To sponsor speakers for both technical and popular lectures in computational astrophysics; and
- To work with the Department of Astronomy and Physics at Saint Mary's University to promote astrophysical research of the highest quality.
