Welcome to Academic Advising for the Department of Sociology and Criminology.
You can reach one of our advisors (Dr. Russell Westhaver or Dr. Dr. Wilma van der Veen) at soccrim.advising@smu.ca.
If you want to meet with one of the Department's academic advisors, there is a sign up sheet outside MS 424 -- please sign up.
Dr. Russell Westhaver (MS 420) has academic advising hours on Tuesdays,Thursdays and Fridays from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM.
Dr. Wilma van der Veen (MS 416) has no academic advising hours until September 2012. These will be updated at a later date.
If these times do not work due to your class schedule, please contact soccrim.advising@smu.ca and we should be able to work out a time that is mutually convenient.
When you arrive for your appointment, please be sure to…
- Have read relevant sections of the Academic Calendar.
- Have copies of your most recent transcripts from Banner with you (we will be unable to print copies for you)
- Have reviewed and completed the appropriate worksheets. Bring this with you as well.
