Dr. Joëlle Cauville joelle cauville

Joëlle Cauville is a Professor of French language, culture and literature and the Coordinator of the Study Abroad Angers Program (France). She graduated from La Sorbonne, Paris (Master's Degree in English Elizabethan literature, 1974) and UBC (Masters degree and Ph. D. in French contemporary literature, 1982 and 1988).

Her research deals with the rewriting of ancient myths in modern French literature, in a “mythocritique” and/or feminist perspective. She is also interested in the concept of “World literature” in French, especially when it comes to such a writer as Jean-Marie Gustave Le Clézio, 2008 Nobel Prize for Literature recipient.
