24 August, 2016
Saint Mary’s University faculty, staff, students, alumni and partners are invited to attend a public lecture to be delivered by Dr. Robert Summerby-Murray, President and Vice-Chancellor, on Wednesday, August 31 from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m., in Sobey 415 in the Unilever Lounge.
The lecture, entitled Teaching and Educational Leadership: Divergence or Convergence, is part of the two-day New Faculty Orientation but is open to the entire Saint Mary’s community.
Dr. Summerby-Murray’s address is one in a series of presentations and events being held during the New Faculty Orientation, which is designed not only to welcome new faculty but to engage them in the Saint Mary’s community.
“Saint Mary’s University is committed to academic excellence within a learning community that values educational leadership,” said Dr. Summerby-Murray. “I am looking forward to the orientation, to meet and welcome new faculty, as well as to discuss the value of transforming teaching and research practice into scholarship.”
A 3M Teaching Fellow since 2006, Dr. Summerby-Murray is a gifted educator whose leadership expertise positions him well as a role model for incoming faculty.
