Huskies take two major CIS awards

Two Saint Mary's Huskies claimed major awards at the CIS (Canadian Interuniversity Sport) Awards in Fredericton last night:


Kennisha-Shanice LuberisseKennisha-Shanice Luberisse, CIS Defensive Player of the Year

‌‌After being honoured at the conference level in each of her first two seasons with the Huskies, Luberisse became the first AUS player to  named CIS defensive MVP since the inception of the national award in 2001.

Chris Larade, hockey coachChris Larade, CIS Coach of the Year

In his fifth campaign at the helm of the Huskies program, Chris Larade became the second Saint Mary's bench boss to be named CIS coach of the year. He joins Lisa MacDonald who shared the award with McGill's Peter Smith in 2003.
