The CN Centre for Occupational Health and Safety was created in 2002 as a centre of excellence within Saint Mary's University. Comprised primarily of faculty members and graduate students, the Centre's objective is to build research capacity within the field of occupational health and safety including occupational health psychology. The Centre accomplishes these objectives by:
Coordinating and conducting occupational health and safety research;
Building capacity for occupational health and safety research in Nova Scotia ;
Providing mechanisms for the training of occupational health psychologists, human resource managers and other practitioners/managers;
Consultation with industry and labour to provide research based guidelines for practice and intervention.
The CN Centre for Occupational Health and Safety gratefully acknowledges the financial support of the Canadian National Rail Company in the pursuit of these goals.
